The Age of Exploration. Some say it’s distinctly over and ended about 350 years ago. They forget their own childhood. Childhood, given the right mindset, should never really end. Three young Austin sisters explore their immediate neighborhood, their sprawling city, and now farther and farther afield aboard their shared electric bicycle. Formerly, Elliette, 17, Alexandra, 15, and Carmen, 13, suffered long enough pedaling that cranky heavy fat-tire bike, especially with each summer’s heat. So mom, another Carmen, asked the folks at Electric Avenue Scooters whether the girls’ demanding contraption could be electrified. Their bicycle was soon transformed into a brushed-stainless-steel high-tech space-age kid-transport. Now, the girls’ schoolmates are envious and, of course, Elliette, Alexandra, or Carmen are no longer diffident about being seen in any of the seemingly-endless tree-shaded residential streets near their home, gliding silently and effortlessly along. Electric Avenue Scooter’s conversion of the girls aging bike included simple speed controls, rechargeable battery components in silvery tubing on the stantion beneath the seat, and the revolutionary powered front wheel.
